Worthington, Ohio Real Estate Market Update

Posted to Real Estate Markets

The warmth of the spring season, green grass and beautiful blooming flowers bushes and trees is setting the scene for an active residential market here in the City of Worthington. Worthington has received the “Tree City” designation and the benefits of that effort are seen today with beautiful tree lined streets.

Even the doom and gloom reported by the major media has not deterred buyers from looking and buying. Since January 1, 2008, the number of residential sales and average days on the market is similar to the same period of 2006 and 2007. The average sales price is down a bit. However, the number of “in contracts” within the Cam Taylor Co. company is up which makes us think positive about the market. The Cam Taylor Co. Relocation group is also experiencing an abundance of activity. Within the last month: the conference rooms have been busy, the buyers and sellers document kits have been flying off the shelf (electronically and hard copy) and the bookkeeping department has been busy. All of these are true indicators that the real estate market here in Worthington is doing well!

For most buyers, it is a great time to buy! Interest rates are still in the 5.5 to 6.5 range and the inventory of available homes is good. For sellers, it is tougher. If you want to sell your property you need to neutralize the décor, get it in great condition and price it aggressively.

Worthington, Ohio is a great place to live and to raise a family or retire. Visit Columbus at www.camtaylor.com and maybe you will decide to stay.
