Nationwide Children’s Hospital commitment to excellence has earned national recognition by being named the twelfth on the US News and World Reports “ America’s Best Hospitals” list, while Child magazine ranked Nationwide Children’s as the sixth best pediatric hospital in the country and number one in emergency care. The hospital’s pediatricians are members of the faculty of the Ohio State University College of Medicine.

Founded in 1892 as a 12-bed charity hospital, over the last year Nationwide Children’s Hospital served kids from across Ohio, all 50 states, and 21 foreign countries, recording over 700,000 patient visits. Their mission is best described by the acronym “CARES”: Children’s is dedicated to providing the highest level of Care, Advocacy, Research, Education, and Service to patients and families in central Ohio and beyond, without regard for their ability to pay. To that end, they provide more than $50 million in uncompensated care every year.

The Nationwide Children’s Hospital campus includes:

*More than 2.2 million square feet covering more than six city blocks.

*383 inpatient beds and more than 800 clinicians.

*The Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital, one of the country’s premier pediatric research programs.

*The Center for Child and Family Advocacy, a partnership between Nationwide Children’s and the Columbus Coalition Against Family Violence.

*17 Community-based Close to Home Centers and growing.

Nationwide Children’s Hospital remains passionately dedicated to their core purpose-providing the absolute best healthcare to every child while they position Nationwide Children’s to be a world leader in pediatric healthcare. We are proud to have Nationwide Children’s Hospital a member of the Columbus community!
