My Trip to Sanibel, Florida
I recently returned from Sanibel, Florida where I spent one week with my family. The weather in Florida the week after Easter was perfect. We had blue skies, pretty sunrises and sunsets and fun galore. The shopping at Jerry’s Market was great, as usual. We always stop for our groceries while spending time conversing with the caged parrots, Jerry, GW, and many other talking birds. Whether walking on the beach of the Gulf of Mexico or swimming in the warm pool, each day was better than the one before. Then reality hit and we had to return home. But, I must say, it is always great to return to Ohio. We have the same beautiful sunrises and sunsets and great food and fun. One does not need to leave home to enjoy vacation time. In fact, leaving home can become stressful. First, standing in line for check in while others do their best to push forward or jump ahead. Next, shoeless, going through the line while being examined as if you might be hiding something and then being told the contact lens solution bottle is too big to take on board. Then, arriving in a busy airport to grab your bags off the fast moving carousel to rush on to get in line for the rental car. Then, doing your best not to say anything to the man who cuts in front because he has a “special card” to get him to the front of the line to get his special car.
Finally, finding the condominium before the office closes to get the key to your room. One might have more relaxation at home, in Ohio, reading, attending movies, resting, sight-seeing, visiting the zoo or a multitude of many things to do. I suggest everyone read Step Back from the Baggage Claim by Jason Barger. Good motivational reading which suggests that we all slow down, step back and take a look at how we treat each other. Just one small step might make a difference. Meanwhile, if you do travel and choose to move to a new location, contact us at www.camtaylor.com!
