Spring and Summer Festivals in Columbus, Ohio

Greater Columbus Ohio Spring and Summer 2010

With the great weather Columbus, Ohio is experiencing, it is time to get outside and enjoy! Columbus offers many festivals and special events for the Spring/Summer of 2010. Listed are just some of the events coming to the central Ohio area soon.

Next weekend, Saturday, May 15, consider joining or cheering for the Komen Columbus Race for the Cure, an event formed to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer www.komencolumbus.org. May 29-30, The Asian Festival, www.asian-festival.org promoting the Asian culture, is held in Franklin Park near down town Columbus.

June is full! The Columbus Arts Festival, June 4-6 held in the Discovery District, www.discoverydistrict.com, and the Creekside Blues & Jazz Festival is being held June 18-20 www.creeksidebluesandjazz.com. June 18-19 is the Pride Festival www.Columbuspride.org held at Goodale Park near Grandview Heights. Take time to drive the area of Grandview, an area rich in history and lovely older homes. The always popular Worthington Arts Festival, June 19-20 is sponsored by the Olde Worthington Business Assoc. www.owba.net. This is an annual event which draws crowds from all around and is held on the Village Green, the crossroads of Rt. 23 and 161. You will find every type of art conceivable at this festival. From there, just north of Worthington is Powell, Ohio where the festival is held at the Village Green Park, June 25-26 with music, food and family activities http://www.cityofpowell.us/residents-event-details.php. German Village, a neighborhood in the downtown area of Columbus, holds the German Village Haus und Garten Tour on June 27 www.germanvillage.com.

Here you will be exposed not only to lovely gardens, but wonderful, old and restored homes.

Not to be missed!! July 2, 2010 Red, White and Boom! The downtown riverfront and Arena District come alive for this amazing display of fireworks over the city. Be sure to arrive early to find the perfect spot to view the fireworks! www.redwhiteandboom.org.
