Ohio Wineries

Posted to Phil Giessler

Taking a brief respite from work, sitting looking over beautiful Lake Erie sunsets, we are planning some outings with visiting friends. Northern Ohio is a Mecca for wineries. One recently opened winery is Quarry Hill, in Berlin Heights, Ohio, just east of Rt. 61 and south of Rt. 6, sitting up on a hill is the new facility. Surrounded by an outside veranda, with a glimpse of the lake, this is an outgrowth of several years of sales within the Quarry Hill barn and recently moved to the hillside. The Quarry Hill orchard is our favorite spot to purchase our summer peaches, corn, melon and in the Fall our apples. Visit www.QuarryHillWinery.org for hours of operation.

Another fun place to taste the wines of Northern Ohio is located just off Rt. 60 and south of Vermillion. Looking out over the grape vines, one gets a feeling of being right there while the grapes are being selected for harvest. Both spots are owned and operated by local families who have lived in the area many years and both just a 2 hour drive from Columbus, Ohio. Call ahead for hours and well worth a visit. Relax and enjoy the summer and fall!

Worthington, Ohio celebrates July 4 with a BANG!

Posted to Columbus Attractions, Phil Giessler

This year again Worthington came through with a fun filled day for the entire family in honor of July 4. I was fortunate to have been raised above the crowd in the outstanding Worthington Fire Departments ladder truck for pictures shown here. I was able to capture the Worthington Presbyterian Church steeplethe flags, and the people enjoying the picnic.

Beginning early with exhibits at the McConnell Arts Center the day was complete with nighttime fireworks filling the sky. Sponsored by the Dublin-Worthington Rotary and he city of Worthington, and open to the public, food was served, the Columbus Zoo visited with animal babies, face painting was a popular event and the Worthington Police Dept. provided child fingerprinting as well! The community was entertained by the Medieval Knights and enjoyed a Blacksmith demonstration. Popcorn and beach balls were given out by Cam Taylor Co., Realtors and all were serenaded by the Orange Johnson Singers. A city founded in 1803, Worthington’s community heritage is celebrated and community spirit is strong. Consider visiting Worthington, Ohio.

Now is a great time to buy in Columbus, Ohio!

Posted to Phil Giessler, Real Estate Markets

If you missed out on the $8,000 federal tax credit NOW is STILL a GREAT BUYING OPPORTUNITY due to the COMPELLING LOW INTEREST RATES! In Central Ohio, Park National Bank is offering low rates for the homebuyer. At historically low rates for a 30 YEAR FIXED TERM, now is a great time to buy! Re-financing is possible as well, at a low rate, based on meeting the parameters set by PN.

New home Builders are offering great deals to homebuyers as incentives to buy. For example, one builder might “throw in” a finished basement. The current rates allow you to purchase a larger home with the same payments you might have made prior to low rates being offered. As well, you can arrange shorter pay off times due to the lower rates. It is always beneficial to sit down with a loan officer to learn the best investment for your dollar.

Previously loved homes are also a GREAT BUY. Most owners are VERY REALISTIC in their offering prices and are making serious efforts in properly preparing the home prior to marketing.

IT IS TRULY A “PERFECT STORM” TIME to buy. LOW RATES and INCENTED sellers EQUALS a GREAT BUYING OPPORTUNITY!!

Remember there is a tax advantage to owning your own home. So, take a moment and contact a professional: Dave Zambo, , or you may call Dave directly at 614-841-0771. Questions? Call your professional realtor, Phil Giessler, www.camtaylor.com, at 614-888-8307.
