What is a Wiki?

You may or may not have heard of Wikipedia. It's an immense online public encyclopedia. The idea behind it is that the online public will police themselves as they add and modify entries, and by doing so they contribute to this free common place for information. There are a ton of volunteer editors who watch over topics they are experts in and keep the content in line. But basically, anyone can contribute. How many times have you read something on the Internet and thought, 'But they left out this basic fact!' or 'why don't they just add a link to this other site that explains it better?' Well, that's what a Wiki is. If you think you have five minutes to contribute to the greater good, go ahead and do so.
